Brief notes on State Government schemes implemented:

YSR PENSION KANUKA

As part of the Navarathnalu, enhancement of pension amount and reduction in the age criteria for old age pension is a major welfare measure to ameliorate the hardships of the poor and vulnerable sections of the society particularly the old and infirm, widows, and persons with disability to secure a dignified life.

In pursuit of this overarching goal, Social Security Pensions amount for old Age Persons, widow, Toddy Tappers, weavers, Single women, Fishermen, ART (PLHIV) Persons, Traditional Cobblers to Rs.2500/- per month, Disabled persons,Transgender and DappuArtists to Rs.3,000/- per month and also for people affected with Chronic Kidney Disease who are undergoing Dialysis both Government and network hospitals to Rs.10,000/- per month. The enhanced scale of pension came into effect from June, 2019 payable from 1st July, 2019 onwards.

SHG BANK LINKAGE

The main objective of SHG Bank Linkage programme is to bring the beneficiaries above the poverty line by providing income generating assets to them through bank credit and government subsidy. SHG Bank Linkage programme aims to enable the poor households in accessing adequate formal credit at their doorsteps through their membership in SHGs with a cheaper rate of interest.

The growth of SHG bank-linkage in the state of Andhra Pradesh is phenomenal. AP state stood in first position in the country with 30% of National share with 99% recovery under SHG Bank Linkage programme. 

YSR AASARA

As a part of Navaratnaalu, Government announced YSR AASARA for providing the financial assistance to rural and urban poor women in Self Help Groups who availed loans for financial needs, by reimbursement of entire bank outstanding amount as on 11.04.2019 in four installments, directly to the savings account of the Self Help Groups from 2020-21 financial year.

YSR SUNNA VADDI

To inculcate of habit of repayment of loan and to reduce the Interest burden on the poor SHG Women in both rural and urban areas and, Government of Andhra Pradesh announced YSR SUNNA VADDI, a new scheme as a part of Navaratnaalu. The scheme is under implementation from 2019-20. 

JAGANANNA THODU

As a part of Navaratnaalu, the Government of Andhra Pradesh announced a new scheme “JAGANANNA THODU” to provide Rs.10,000/- towards financial assistance to Petty Vendors under Zero Vaddi.                               

 YSR CHEYUTHA

As a part of Navaratnaalu, Government announced YSR CHEYUTHA. This scheme aims at equipping SHG women of SC/ST/OBC/minority with a financial benefit of Rs.75000 over a period of four years to those women who come under 45 to 60 years of age. 

YSR BIMA

All Primary Bread earners belonging to BPL families in the State, in the age group of to 70 years are eligible to be enrolled as beneficiaries of new YSR- Bima Scheme.  Rs.1.00 lakh relief amount to the nominees of the beneficiaries towards Natural Death in the age group of 18-50 years under YSR Bima Scheme will be paid directly by the Government through GV/WV & VS/WS Department. Rs.5.00 lakh relief amount will be paid to the beneficiaries towards Accidental Death/Permanent Disability in the age group of 18-70 years through insurance company. Insurance coverage will be made under suitable Group Insurance Scheme by the selected Insurance Company. The total premium for the Scheme shall be paid by the Government. 

STREENIDHI

StreeNidhi Credit Co-operative Federation Limited (StreeNidhi) is an Apex Credit Co-operative Federation registered under the Andhra Pradesh Co-operatives Societies Act’ 1964 and has emerged as a financial institution catering to the financial needs of SHGs.

Promoted by the MandalSamakhyas (MS) and Town Level Federation (TLF) of self-help groups (SHG) in association with the Government of Andhra Pradesh.StreeNidhi has started its operations from 6th October 2011,StreeNidhi Credit Co-operative Federation Limited is headed by a Managing Committee consisting of representatives from MS/TLFs, nominees from Government of AP and a Managing Director. StreeNidhi since inception is earning profits. It is a low cost and self-sustainable model. From the beginning overheads are met from own revenue. 

UNNATHI

SERP established Unnathi component in the year 2014 with the objective of promoting sustainable livelihoods to Poorest of the Poor families, especially Scheduled caste and Scheduled Tribes by mobilizing financial resources through multiple channels and to join them into egalitarian society. In concise, enhancing the income of POP family to an annual income of Rs One lakh over a period and a significant improvement in human development aspects are considered the twin mandates of the proposed strategy.

After creation of Unnathi component, Needs of 25 lakh SC & ST SHG women were identified. Every precaution was taken to facilitate these SHG women to choose the best possible practicable livelihood in her vicinity.

During the year 2020-21, it is scheduled to extend financial assistance to 1.25 lakh SC & ST SHG women to create livelihoods with the available recovery funds. The financial support is in the form of interest free loans. Beneficiary has to create asset to earn income and repayment has to be done as per schedule. All beneficiaries making regular repayment will be bestowed with interest loans.
