CPWS Scheme to Gudimellaka and other habitations of Malkipuram and part of Sakhinetipallimandals:

The CPWS Scheme to Gudimellaka and other habitations of Malkipuram and part of Sakhinetipallimandals was commissioned in the year 2000. The scheme was proposed to cater the needs of people of 98 habitations of Malkipuram andSakhinetipallimandals. The scheme was designed for 1,27,700population to supply 40lpcd. The source of the scheme was Godavari surface water fed through Gannavaram canal from Dowleswaram barrage to the SS Tank. The Malikipuram and Sakhinetipallimandals are located at the tail end of Gannavaram canal and most of the habitations are coastal habitations. 5nos of Slow sand filters with treatment capacity of 5MLD (1MLD for each filter) were provided for raw water treatment in the execution of the scheme.

Due to high turbidity, in the range of 100 to 250 NTU of raw water from P.Gannavaram canal during rainy season from June to October, SS filters are being clogged very frequently and hence it is becoming necessary scrapping of top settled skumtzdeck duly sending out all the water and drying up the SS Filter, once in a week. Thus, in every week two filters beds are under such process and hence the required water is not being filtered. As such, the water is not being supplied to public at 40 lpcd. It is being supplied at 25-30 lpcd.

To overcome the problem, as an interim measure, 5MLD Micro Filter (3MLD Micro Filter is installed in the year 2010 and another 2MLD Micro Filter is installed recently) is provided to CPWS Scheme Gudimellanka and thus the required quantity of treated water is being produced and thus water is being supplied to public at 40 LPCD.

The Village Satyanarayanapuram H/O Atchutapuram is a village in KapileswarapuramMandal in Mandapeta constituency is declared as HarGharJal Village.
