EXCISE KONASEEMA

Departmental Activities:

The Prohibition & Excise Department is a major regulatory department. It regulates production, sale, transportation and usage of intoxicants and alcoholic preparations both for potable and industrial purposes. Revenue generation is incidental to such regulation. At present, APSBCL Retail Outlets, Bars, Clubs, Military Canteens, Toddy Cooperative Societies, Denatured Spirit Units, Rectified Spirits Units, Molasses Units are being regulated by the Department. 

Brief note on State Government Schemes implemented:

Government of Andhra Pradesh has granted A.P. State Beverages Corporation Limited with the exclusive privilege of selling liquor by shop
and the privilege is being extended from time to time till date. At present (384) liquor Retail Outlets ate functioning in undivided East Godavari District.
